Using the Multimedia Classrooms

There are 64 general use multimedia classrooms at Laurier - Waterloo Campus. These classrooms can be booked through the Classroom Booking Section of the Registrar's Office. Multimedia equipment in these rooms is maintained by ICT staff.

If you have any questions about using the Media Classrooms you can contact The ICT Service Desk from Monday-Friday 8 am to 5 pm at 519-884-0710 x4357; from Monday to Thursday 5 pm to 10 pm at 519-884-0710 x2222; and on Saturdays from 1 to 5 pm at 519-884-0710 x 2222.

1. Multimedia Classroom Console


This is the layout of the average multimedia classroom console. Note: If a cabinet door is locked, there is nothing in the cabinet that is available to you. To ensure that the classroom you plan to use has the appropriate technology, please check here. You can find the media equipment in the specified locations.

2. Multimedia Control Panel


The above picture shows the location of the enlarged control panel. It may vary between each classroom, but it will always be on the top of the console and easily accessible. The layout of the control panel will also vary slightly. It is easiest to follow the labels on the buttons.

3.  Enlarged Control Panel


There are three main components to each control panel. Start by turning on the projector with the power button. Allow 2-3 minutes for the projector to warm up. Follow by choosing your projection source by pressing the appropriate button. If you have no sound, ensure that the volume is not at the minimum volume.
