An introduction to the wonderful world of biological research and the documentation of the resultant investigation. Students will carry out individual research under the supervision of a faculty member.  The resulting study will be documented in a formal thesis. A departmental talk and a poster presentation  are part of the thesis requirements. Research projects are chosen with the guidance of prospective thesis supervisors prior to undertaking the project.  A minimum of 6 h per week devoted to the thesis, in addition to attending weekly scheduled meetings, is expected for the fall and winter terms.
