An Advisory in regard to USB Devices

The ITS department would like to advise the Laurier community to not insert other peoples' USB devices into their computers. Malwares can jump from a USB device to a computer once it is connected.

If you must share files as part of your work then we recommend that you use your network drives. If network file sharing is inappropriate and you must use foreign USB devices then you should ensure that the Windows Operating System autorun facility is disabled on your computer. For the tech savy, instructions for disabling autorun can be found at Other users should place a work order with the ICT HelpDesk.
