2013-14 Executives

Kathy Ziomek, President

I am a second year student pursuing a combined major in Global Studies and Applied Economics at Wilfrid Laurier University. I am honoured to have been elected President of the Laurier Arts Scholars for the 2013-2014 year. Over the past year, I have been involved with the initial development of the Laurier Arts Scholars as Vice-President: Operations, and I hope to utilize the skills and experience I gained during this time to continue the programís expansion. My goal this year is for the program to develop more initiatives to assist students in the Arts in their academic endeavours. Also, I hope to provide our Scholars and other students in the Arts with a greater number of opportunities for involvement within the academic and greater community. I look forward to working with the rest of the executive team, the Scholars, and members of the Faculty of Arts over the next year.

Diana Tudose, Vice-President

I am a second year student majoring in Communication Studies and working towards obtaining the Management Option as well. My goal is to attend graduate school and to become a professor. I have experience coordinating activities as I was a member of the First Year Campus Experience Team, vice-president of the Free the Children club, and events coordinator for the school ambassador team. I also have experience providing academic help as I was an English tutor for 4 years. I plan to use my skills and experience to help the Laurier Arts Scholars expand and ensure members obtain the support needed to achieve academic excellence. I look forward to serving as the Vice-President.

Rochelle Adamiak, Vice-President

I am a second year student majoring in Archaeology and Anthropology, minoring in Religious Studies. I am one of the Vice-Presidents of the Laurier Art Scholars. I like to get involved within my school community and enjoy meeting new people. I cannot wait to see what this school year will bring but I know it will be an amazing experience. I am excited to help incoming first years into our LAS community and look forward to meeting everyone personally.

Emily Tippins, Secretary

I am excited to take on the role of secretary and canít wait to work with other members of LAS and to expand our program into the Laurier community and promote academic excellence. I am looking forward to working with the other members of the 2013-2014 executive team as we continue to grow.

Brandon Pludwinski, First Year Representative

I am a first year student majoring in Global Studies and pursuing a sustainability option. I am thrilled to be part of the Laurier Arts Scholars executive teams as the First Year Representative. As the FYR my job is to help coordinate social events and create a community between the first years. I would also like to promote LAS to both current and incoming students to help grow our community. I look forward to meeting all of you!
