Counselling Consultant in the Faculty of Arts
If you are experiencing any personal issue that is concerning you, you may consider meeting with the Counselling Consultant for some guidance. The consultant sees students with concerns such as;
• Thoughts of self harm or harm to someone else
• Thoughts of suicide
• Anxiety & Stress
• Depressive symptoms
• University adjustment difficulties
• Compulsion & Obsession
• Disordered Eating
• Disordered Thoughts
• Family concerns
• Gender identity
• Sexual orientation
• Romantic relationships
• Self esteem
Appointments and Drop-In Times
A consult is a brief appointment (20-30 Min) to obtain professional feedback regarding your options for addressing personal issues. All personal information is kept confidential and will not be shared with faculty or staff. View the Privacy & Confidentiality policy, including exceptions to confidentiality.
Drop-In times are on Tuesdays from 9 a.m. to noon. These appointments are first come, first serve. Simply come by the Faculty of Arts Office. Appointments are booked on Thursdays. Follow the link below to book an appointment.
Please Note: The Counselling Consultant is unavailable from June 6-August 20, 2012. Regular scheduled drop-in and appointment times will resume August 21, 2012. If you require assistance during this time, please contact WLU Counselling Services (See info below).
If you feel you are in a crisis situation, and have a concern that is causing considerable distress which requires immediate support and/or a concern that you, or a student of concern, might hurt themselves or others, please contact one of the following resources immediately.

Crisis appointments will be scheduled on a first come, first served basis - according to risk.
Although every attempt possible will be made, if demand exceeds our capacity, students will be referred to crisis services available in the community.
