Seventh annual FSW Research Forum

The Faculty of Social Work (FSW) invites alumni, agency partners and community members to participate in the seventh annual graduate student/faculty research forum. The forum is an opportunity for social work researchers to share their findings, explore topics related to evidence and practice and expand perspectives. It also allows MSW students and the community to learn about research being conducted within the FSW community and the variety of methods that can be used in social work research.

The Forum
The forum will take place from 8:15 a.m. to 1:15 p.m. on Monday, January 27, 2014 at 120 Duke Street West, Kitchener, Room 101. Registration and refreshments will take place from 8:15 to 8:45 a.m.

Call for Abstracts
The FSW would like a variety of presenters, including full- and part-time faculty, practicum instructors, students and alumni. If you are interested in presenting your research at the forum, submit a maximum 250 word abstract on your presentation to Melanie Whitwell at by January 6, 2014. Abstracts should include a title, presenter(s) name(s), contact information and a concise statement of the study topic, methods and key findings. The abstract does not need to include references or grant acknowledgements. Abstracts will be printed in the conference program. Presenters will be allotted 30 minutes, followed by 15 minutes for discussion. A copy of the presentation must be submitted by January 24, 2014 so it can be posted on the FSW website.
