Susan Cadell Steps into Role of Acting Dean
The Faculty of Social Work is excited to announce to our alumni that Dr. Susan Cadell has been appointed to the position of Acting Dean of the Faculty of Social Work.
Susan is herself a WLU alumni, having earned both her Masters and her PhD in the faculty. After completing her PhD Susan spent five years in the Social Work faculty at the University of British Columbia before returning to WLU as a faculty member.
In addition to her research, which focuses on positive aspects of stress and coping (particularly post-traumatic growth), parents caring for a child with a life-limiting illness, couples coping with caregiving together and family bereavement over time, Susan is also the Director of the Manulife Centre for Healthy Living (MCHL), which promotes and conducts interprofessional research and education in the field of health and well-being.
Susanís appointment is from January 1, 2010 until June 30, 2011.
Our previous dean, Dr. Lesley Cooper, has been appointed to the position of Acting Principal/Vice-President of the Brantford campus. We will miss her in the Faculty of Social Work but wish her all the best in her new role.
