Procurement Policies and Procedures

Procurement Policies and Procedures govern how Wilfrid Laurier University conducts sourcing, contracting and procurement activities including approval segregation and limits, competitive and non-competitive procurements, conflict of interest and bid protest procedure.

In April of 2011, Ontario’s Management Board of Cabinet mandated that the Broader Public Sector Directive be incorporated into the funding agreements of Broader Public Sector (BPS) organizations receiving more than $10 million per fiscal year from the Ministries of Health and Long Term Care, Education and Training, Colleges and Universities.

The purpose of the Directive is to ensure that publicly funded goods and services that are procured by Broader Public Sector organizations are handled through processes that are open, fair and transparent. Wilfrid Laurier University’s Procurement and Tendering Policy 5.11 adheres to the principles and guidelines recommended and mandated by the Directive.
