University of Vermont
The University is located in Burlington, Vermont, a small city that is perennially voted one of America's most exciting and livable cities. It is nestled in a location of stunning natural beauty, on the shores of Lake Champlain between the Adirondack and the Green mountain ranges. As a result of its location, it is home to many outdoor and winter sports enthusiasts and industries. The historic character, thriving arts and music scenes, and small-scale of Burlington—it has only 40,000 inhabitants, even though it is Vermont’s largest city—make it one of the state’s central tourist destinations. Also, as the state’s primary urban center, volunteer and service learning opportunities in fields like government, environment, and education abound.
