Dean of Students (Brantford Campus)
Our students need more than a challenging academic study in order to gain an education that will support their life goals. In recognition of this, the Dean of Students is responsible for supporting personal growth and academic achievement by providing an environment that fosters a high quality program of student success. Student well-being and positive engagement as Laurier citizens are the two highest priorities of this office.
Feeling good and being healthy are important foundational factors in being able to fully engage in life.
Students need assistance connecting in to campus resources or are struggling with mental health and wellness issues are encouraged to contact this office for support.
Highly engaged students participate in clubs, councils, conferences, services, volunteer, and take advantage of the co-curricular events and opportunities offered at university. Through participation in campus life students have the opportunity to learn life skills, have personal insights, and widen their social networks. There is a strong correlation between student engagement and higher academic performance. Students at Laurier can participate in the Co-Curricular Record (CCR) and get a transcript of their participation.
The Dean of Students Office has the oversight for the development, direction and implementation of the Non-academic Student Code of Conduct. The Student Code and judicial process exist to encourage positive citizenship and to provide learning opportunities for personal growth while overcoming mistakes.
All students who are registered at Wilfrid Laurier University, regardless of campus, are subject to, and must familiarize themselves with, all University rules, regulations and policies.
