Educational Development staff members are available to provide one-on-one and group consultations to graduate students, faculty and instructional staff, post-doctoral fellows, departments and committees at all campuses.

At the individual level, this may include:

  • developing an evaluation plan
  • preparing a teaching dossier and/or philosophy statement
  • exploring student assessment options
  • coordinating a classroom observation
  • preparing a nomination package for a teaching/technology/innovation award
  • designing an evaluation rubric
  • developing or redesigning a new or existing course (online/face-to-face/hybrid)

At the department level, this may include:

  • developing and providing customized workshops or presentations on teaching and learning topics in support of local initiatives
  • supporting and advising on curriculum development efforts (e.g., developing a new program, course design)
  • developing customized services and resources in support of new faculty and graduate students,
  • setting-up a department-based teaching forum/teaching circle
  • providing an overview of the teaching and learning services and supports offered by the Centre for Teaching Innovation and Excellence at a departmental meeting
One-on-one consultations are voluntary and confidential in nature and may be arranged at the discretion of the individual. Group consultations can be customized to meet the specific needs of the inquiring committee or department.
