New Faculty and Librarian Orientation

The Centre for Teaching Innovation and Excellence (CTIE) is partnered with many other Laurier communities to deliver continuous professional development and multi-day programming for new Laurier faculty members. This year, we invite those who are new to Laurier or have joined as a Laurier faculty member or librarian in the last two years to participate in two days of programming focused on research, teaching and learning with featured sessions including:

  • Research Panel: Insights, Opportunities, Challenges and Expectations
  • Critical Conversations in Teaching
  • Syllabus Design and Implementation
  • MyLearningSpace
  • First Class Meetings
  • Active Learning Classrooms and Information Communication Technologies Roadshow

DAY 1 | August 23 |
9:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.
Day 1 will focus on research and classroom technologies. 

DAY 2 | August 24 | 9:00 a.m. - 4:00 p.m.
Day 2 will focus on teaching and learning at Laurier.

Participants will be able to experience a variety of classroom settings and learn with leading Laurier faculty and staff throughout the two days. A full schedule will be emailed to registrants closer to the event date.

Lunch is provided on both days of programming. Dietary restrictions will be captured upon registration.
