“Laurier Reads Boyden”


“Laurier Reads Boyden” group meeting throughout the Winter 2012 term


Joseph Boyden, Giller Award-winning author of Through Black Spruce and Three Day Road, will be Laurier’s Writer-in-Residence for three days from March 6 to March 8, 2012.

“Laurier Reads Boyden” is a university-wide group whose members are reading Through Black Spruce. Members of this reading group will have a special discussion session with Boyden during his visit to Laurier, on the afternoon of March 7.  Membership in the group is open to all students from all faculties studying at all levels, faculty members, instructors, staff, and other members of the Laurier community.

The group will meet for three Mondays to discuss Through Black Spruce in the Paul Martin Centre from 5:00 p.m.-7:00 p.m. on the following dates, with the following topics:

The Laurier Reads Boyden group will be led by Dr. Tanis MacDonald, Dr. Ute Lischke, Allan Downey, facilitators from the Office of Aboriginal Initiatives, and graduate students.
