Crime Stoppers

Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers is one of the 39 provincial programs and one of over 1000 International programs.

Crime Stoppers is a non-profit organization run by a volunteer Board of Directors.

"Crime Stoppers is a partnership of the public, police and media which provides the community with a proactive program to anonymously assist in solving crime and contributing to an improved quality of life."

Tips may be made to Waterloo Regional Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-TIPS (8477) or Special Constable Service at (519)885-3333 or ext. 3333.

  • Crime Stoppers will pay a cash reward for information leading to an arrest in any serious crime.
  • If eligible for a reward the tipster is given a code name and instructions on how to pick up the cash reward.
  • Reward amounts are based on:
    • number of arrests made;
    • number of charges laid;
    • number of cases cleared;
    • dollar amount of drugs and/or property seized.

The Women's Campus Safety Committee, Community Safety & Security and WLUSU are proud to be part of the 'Safety Whistle' program.

The purpose of the safety whistle program is to give staff, students and faculty a portable means of communication of warning others of an assault or emergency.  The use of the whistle will alert Community Safety & Security Special Constables to respond quickly and efficiently.

The safety whistle can be obtained from WLU Foot Patrol.
