Laurier appoints new Director, Institutional Strategy and Analytics

Aug 15/13

Wilfrid Laurier University has appointed Martha Hook McGregor to the position of Director, Institutional Strategy and Analytics, effective Sept. 16.

Hook McGregor joined Laurier’s office of Institutional Research and Planning as a project manager earlier this year. She has undergraduate degrees in mathematics and education and a master’s degree in business administration. She has held positions in Canada, the United States, Europe, the Middle East and Africa. She has worked as a teacher, project manager, executive search consultant and management consultant. Martha has extensive change management experience. She has been a change management project team member for the redesign and implementation of two global recruitment management systems for a strategy consulting firm, and for the implementation of an insurance company's national learning management system.

“Martha brings a strong background in strategy, systems and change management,” said Laurier President Max Blouw. “Her skills and experience will be a valuable asset as Laurier continues to improve its ability to generate and make use of institutional analytics for evidence-based decision making.”

Hook McGregor succeeds Orna Duggan, who is leaving Laurier Sept. 20 to pursue further graduate education and an opportunity in the private sector in her home country of Ireland.

“Orna has served the university with vision, energy, and commitment,” said Blouw. “She has played a lead role in taking Laurier’s in-house capacity for institutional analytics to a much higher level. Because of her leadership, Laurier is now much better positioned to undertake the Integrated Planning and Resource Management process, as well as many other activities, based on clear and consistent evidence. I wish Orna all the best in the next stage of her career.”
