Our Community, Our Laurier 2007 campaign surpasses its fundraising goal, but participation is still needed!

Communications, Public Affairs & Marketing

Dec 13/07

The Our Community, Our Laurier volunteer team is proud to report that the fundraising total has now been surpassed by more than $64,000, with a current total of $414,123.72! Although this is a fantastic achievement, the team is still hoping to reach its participation goal of 500 donors. At present, we have 394 donors which is 79 percent of our goal.

“The staff, faculty and retirees of Laurier have proven they are passionate about this institution and its success,” said Luke Fusco, 2007 campaign co-chair. “Surpassing our fundraising total so early in the campaign proves that. Now we just need to increase our participation numbers.”

The Our Community, Our Laurier campaign is the university’s annual campus campaign which seeks support from faculty, staff and retirees to help build a better Laurier. This year’s theme, Pick your Passion, encourages donors to support the area they are most passionate about. Donors can choose from such areas as the library, student awards, music, research, athletics or any other area that is really important to them.

There is still time to take part in this year’s campaign and there are many ways to conveniently make your gift.

For pledge card donations, please drop by Gail Roth Abbott’s office at Alumni Hall until December 21st at noon. After this time, you can leave it in the drop box at Alumni Hall (located to the left of the main entrance door), send it through the mail, or visit to make your secure gift online. If you wish to receive a 2007 income tax receipt, your gift needs to be received online, postmarked or time stamped on or before December 31, 2007.
