Lois Gingrich, an alumna and adjunct professor at the Waterloo Lutheran Seminary, passed away unexpectedly with her husband Ronald at their home on Jan. 2, 2012. She was 68 years old.

“Lois was strongly committed to counselling and believed in the potential for healing and change that can occur in the counselling relationship,” said Kristine Lund, assistant principal and director of the Pastoral Counselling Programs at Waterloo Lutheran Seminary.

Lois was a graduate of the MDiv/MTS-MSW program jointly hosted by Waterloo Lutheran Seminary and Wilfrid Laurier University’s Faculty of Social Work. She had been an adjunct professor at the seminary since 2008. She was also a substitute teacher and played the piano.

Memorial services for the couple were held over the weekend.

Condolences for the family and donations to the Canadian Cancer Society or the Mennonite Central Committee may be arranged through Erb & Good Family Funeral Home at or by calling 519-745-8445.
