Wilfrid Laurier University has begun updating the “landmark” signage on its Waterloo campus to reflect the university’s visual identity. On April 28, construction began to install a new sign bearing the university's logo on the face of the Aird Building.

The remaining landmark signage that will be updated includes the signs on the corners of King Street and University Avenue, King Street and Bricker Avenue, and University Avenue and Albert Street, as well as the signs located on mid-campus drive.

“The landmark signs are the first thing you see as you approach Laurier and they are the gateway to our community,” said Gary Nower, assistant vice-president: Physical Resources. “The new design is striking and distinct, and will give a good first impression of our campus.”

Laurier’s departments of Physical Resources and Communications, Public Affairs and Marketing are working with Signs Galore, a signage company located in Breslau, on the project.

“We’re looking forward to unveiling our new look for the Laurier community in time for convocation,” said Helen Exley, associate director: Marketing & Creative Services. “They showcase Laurier as the exceptional postsecondary institution it is.”
