Support third year voice student Christina Yun's benefit concert with Musicians without Boarders Canada

Sep 23/13

Christina Yun is a third year Voice Performance student at Wilfrid Laurier University, as well as a partner for the non-profit organization Musicians Without Borders Canada. The group holds a series of benefit concerts to provide financial aid to charities who utilize music in their programs and outreach.

This year the group is raising funds for what the Non-Formal Education Division (NFED) started by the World Bank. The NFED is an organization that aims to reduce illiteracy in developing nations. Proceeds from the concert will go towards continuing support for their valuable program. In Ghana, NFED is taking on a creative approach to reducing illiteracy: using traditional music to educate the adults who cannot access essential information (relating to health, education, career, etc) because due to illiteracy. And MWB Canada will be supporting them by providing them with the funds to buy the needed instruments and equipment.

This year, the benefit concert on Friday, September 27th at Choonghyun Presbyterian Church/Sheridan Park Alliance Church in Mississauga. (2440 Fifth Line W Mississauga, ON.) at 7:30PM.

It is a free-will donation at the door, and doors will open at 7PM.
