Laurier to host knowledge mobilization workshop Oct. 19

Laurier’s Centre for Community Research, Learning and Action is hosting a knowledge mobilization workshop at the university’s Waterloo campus Oct. 19, led by Shawna Reibling.

Reibling, a knowledge mobilization officer in the Office of Research Services at Laurier, will be talking about what knowledge mobilization is and why it matters to researchers, graduate students and community member partners. She will also provide:

•    Examples of knowledge mobilization strategies for the social sciences and humanities
•    Examples of knowledge mobilization strategies for the sciences
•    Clear language summaries as an example of an outreach tool

Reibling previously managed a knowledge mobilization team in the Faculty of Education, and was a grants facilitator at the University of British Columbia. Her specialties include creating communications strategies that do more with less and sharing knowledge across digital and social media platforms.

The event is free and open to the public. It is being held Oct. 19 from 8 a.m. to 11 a.m. at 232 King Street North, Room K2014. To register, visit:
