Diaspora Newsletter "Roots & Routes" Released

May 15/12

This Headline is being posted on behalf of the International Migration Research Centre

The inaugural issue of GRFDT's monthly newsletter "Roots and Routes"
has been released by Dr. A. Didar Singh, former Secretary, Ministry of
Overseas Indian Affairs (MOIA), Government of India in the presence of
Ambassador Paramjit Singh Sahai and other key members of the GRFDT on
12 May 2012 at the School of Social Sciences in JNU, New Delhi.
Roots and Routes was initiated to reach out to the researcher and
policy makers across the globe for a meaningful engagement so as to
contribute to the understanding of the issues of diaspora and
transnationalism in the current times.
Our next issue will be out in June first week. We solicit
contributions in the forms of book reviews, interviews with leading
scholars and policy makers, relevant news and views on the subject of
diaspora and transnationalism. The editorial committee will decide on
the publication suitability of the contributions and if required other
diaspora scholars may be consulted for their expert opinion.
We will be glad to have information on diaspora related events,
activities and programmes at your esteemed institution. Announcements
related to admission, fellowships, summer programmes, research
projects, seminars, conferences, job vacancies and profile of faculty
etc can be covered by the Newsletter as well as on the website
(forthcoming) of our organization, whichever is suitable.
We will be grateful to have your suggestions to improve the content,
quality and presentation of the Newsletter in the forthcoming issues.
This entire effort is done voluntarily by the scholars and students
associated with the Forum.
We are looking forward to have your cooperation in making the GRFDT a
platform for meaningful engagement. Please feel free to forward the
Newsletter and spread the word about GRFDT to anyone who might be
With best regards,

Dr. Sadananda Sahoo
Convenor, GRFDT
