Negotiations Update

University and WLUSA commence bargaining

Wilfrid Laurier University and the Wilfrid Laurier University Staff Association have commenced collective bargaining for a new contract.

To date, the two sides have met six times and progress is being made. Bargaining sessions are booked Monday through Thursday until the end of July. It is anticipated that additional bargaining dates will be set as required.

The University is committed to reaching an agreement that is fair and equitable and in the best interests of the institution and its students.

The Wilfrid Laurier University Staff Association, which is a member of the Ontario Secondary School Teachers' Federation (WLUSA/OSSTF District 35), represents approximately 500 staff members at the University.

The University's bargaining team includes Allison Rawn, assistant vice-president: human resources; Michael Carroll, dean of the Faculty of Arts; Wayne Steffler, assistant vice-president: administration; Lisa Fanjoy, manager: online learning and continuing studies; Kate Konopka, manager: employee relations; and Stacey Hawkins, human resources generalist.
