Eric Beck receives Ontario Graduate Scholarship

Apr 16/14

Congratulations to Eric Beck who has recently been awarded the Ontario Graduate Scholarship.

OGS awards are merit-based scholarships available to graduate students in all disciplines of academic study.  Eric is graduating with his Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology at Wilfrid Laurier University and will continue on in the Master’s program, conducting research at the Sun Life Financial Movement Disorders Research and Rehabilitation Centre (“MDRC”).

“When I finish my Undergraduate Thesis, I hope to improve understanding of the predominant mechanism underlying freezing of gait that affects many patients with Parkinson’s disease. More specifically, with contributing work from colleagues at the MDRC in addition to my research, we intend to understand whether the freezing of gait phenomena is related to a sensory perceptual impairment.”

MDRC is proud to have Eric as part of the team!
