WATERLOO – Wilfrid Laurier University will open its doors for the annual fall Laurier Day open house, Friday, Nov. 5, from 9:30 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the Waterloo campus and Friday, Nov. 12 at Laurier Brantford.

Laurier Day gives potential students and their families a first-hand opportunity to learn about academic programs, admissions, financial aid and student life. Laurier faculty, staff and students will be on hand to answer questions and give guided tours.

“Starting university is a major change for students and their families, with new freedoms and new responsibilities,” said Glennice Snyder, Laurier’s manager of student recruitment. “The Laurier Day open house is a wonderful opportunity for students to speak with staff, faculty and students to learn about life at Laurier and to have all of their questions answered.”

On Nov. 5, students and parents are invited to start their day in the Fred Nichols Campus Centre concourse, where they can browse booths on admissions and financial aid, learn about campus clubs and student services at the student life fair, join a campus tour, and get more information on other events and sessions happening across campus.

There will be an arts and science information fair in the Science Building courtyard and a business and economics information fair in the KPMG Atrium in the Schlegel Centre running from 9 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Students can experience Laurier's music program first hand at the Faculty of Music open house. A free concert will take place at 9:30 a.m. in the Maureen Forrester Recital Hall.

Laurier’s residence buildings will also be open throughout the day. Current first-year residents will lead tours and share what they love about their on-campus home.
