Laurier Professor Jorge Heine to be United Nations Research Fellow

Laurier Political Science Professor Jorge Heine will be a United Nations Research Fellow during his 2013-2014 sabbatical year.
Heine will spend the year at the UN's Economic Commission for Latin America and the Caribbean (ECLAC) headquarters in Santiago, Chile, an entity often described as Latin America's think tank. He will be based at the International Trade and Integration Division and will be working on a project on Indo-Latin American relations.
He has previously been a consultant to ECLAC as well as to the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) Asia-Pacific Bureau, and serves currently on the UNDP's Latin American Bureau Strategic Advisory Group. Three of Heine's books have been published by United Nations University Press.
