Frank Millerd is a professor emeritus in the Department of Economics, Lazaridis School of Business and Economics. He received a PhD in 1972 from Cornell University. He has published journal articles and reports in the fields of internal migration, fisheries management, the potential impact of climate change on commercial navigation, and regional and urban development. Current research includes the development of the British Columbia salmon fishery, individual versus household data in migration research, and adapting to climate change by commercial navigation in the Great Lakes-St. Lawrence River system. His teaching included natural resource economics, research methodology, and introduction to microeconomics. Environmental economics, agricultural economics, and intermedidate macroeconomics are some of the areas he also previously taught. From 1987 to 1993 he was chair of the Department of Economics and from 1994 to 1999 he was University Secretary.
