Steve Farlow is the Interim Executive Director of the Lazaridis Institute for the Management of Technology Enterprises, which is focused on the key issue of scaling and growing emerging technology companies. He is also the founding Executive Director of the Schlegel Centre for Entrepreneurship at Wilfrid Laurier University in Waterloo, Ontario.
Farlow is an entrepreneur who owned and operated a successful business that he sold in mid-2002, prior to joining Laurier. He brings this entrepreneurial background to support students’ education in entrepreneurship. The flagship initiative is called the Laurier LaunchPad, a campus-linked accelerator where students from all faculties and alumni come together at the Communitech Hub, Accelerator Centre and Laurier Brantford to create enterprises within the academic curriculum.
Farlow’s passion is supporting men and women who have the drive to own, operate and build businesses. In Waterloo, he previously served on the Communitech board for several years and now sits on boards for Capacity Canada and Futurpreneur Canada. In his spare time, he is an active angel investor in early-stage companies.
