Welcome to the Writing Centre at the Waterloo campus.

If you are a current student, please visit our new website.

We offer the following services:

  • Individual 50-minute consultations for both undergraduate and graduate students
  • Drop-in hours for short sessions where students can get immediate help with specific questions abotu academic writing
  • Workshops:
    • writing workshops for all students on the core elements of academic writing
    • workshops for graduate students: Scholarship Proposal Writing
    • workshops for English language learners
  • Resources on writing:
    • handouts and book recommendations
    • online resources: WriteOnline.ca and The Assignment Planner
  • Writing support for faculty:
    • In-class writing workshops specifically designed for your course and  discipline, offered at both the undergraduate and the graduate level
    • individual or department-level consultations to create effective writing assignments and assessments
    • resources on integrating writing into courses - information on writing-intensive courses and writing across the curriculum

We are pleased to share news of our new online writing resource. It was developed in collaboration with the University of Guelph and the University of Waterloo. It was funded by the Council of Ontario Universities.
