Mona Tokarek LaFosse works in the area of Early Christian Studies, with a focus on the cultural and social context of early Christian communities. She completed her PhD at the University of Toronto in 2011. Her doctoral work, supported by a SSHRC doctoral fellowship, examined how an understanding of ancient Mediterranean age structure, intergenerational relationships and the life course illuminates social dynamics among women and men in early Christian texts, using 1 Timothy 5 as a case study. She has presented her work at the Society of Biblical Literature, the Canadian Society of Biblical Studies, the Canadian Society of Patristic Studies, the Context Group and the Kitchener-Waterloo Biblical Colloquium. Mona has taught in the areas of New Testament/Early Christianity, New Testament Greek and Religious Studies at the University of Toronto, Huron University College (at Western) and Wilfrid Laurier University (Religion and Culture).
