I am an ecologist who uses evolutionary game theory to understand plant-plant interactions and community structure. I tend to view most ecological interactions as a foraging game.
I recieved my PhD from the University of Alberta where I worked with JC Cahill on problems in nutrient foraging by plant roots. After this work, I took an NSERC Post-Doctoral Fellowship with Joel Brown at the University of Illinois at Chicago. This work focused on using evolutionary game theory to understand plant strategies for competition.
My research at Laurier combines these areas of expertise and seeks to understand how plants in the boreal forest allocate to roots, wood and leaves using evolutionary game theory in collaboration with Jennifer Baltzer.
