My current research examines the dispositif of the proper, the commons, and the body in contemporary Italian biopolitical social and political theory. My book Containing Community examines the economic, ethical, ontological and political dimensions of this dispositif in the debate about community between Agamben, Esposito, and Nancy (forthcoming SUNY Press, Fall 2016). I am also writing a series of articles that examine this problematic in relation to the biopolitical economy of “guest worker” programs, globalization and migration, and recent debates in Italian Theory.
