Have an app idea? Let our students build it for you.

The Department of Physics and Computer Science at Wilfrid Laurier University is teaching a course on mobile application development. This course focuses on Blackberry Apps in the fall term and Iphone Apps in the Winter term. Currently, students are looking for app ideas for this Winter's course.   

If you have the need of an app, they would like to hear from you!  

Expected from the Students  

  • one or two students will work on your company's application idea   
  • each party will sign an intellectual property agreement where the company owns the intellectual property at the end  
  • projects start on March 2nd and will end April 7th  

Expected from the company  

  • the company will provide the idea  
  • the company will support students by giving advice and feedback throughout the applications development  
  • the company will provide feedback and evaluation at the projects end to be used in marking
  • the company may support the course development by contributing a prize to the app competition  


  • try out an app idea that you have had on your agenda for free and with no risk
  • create relationships with young app developers
  • minimal time commitment
  • students are motivated since they are being graded!
  • oversight is provided by Dr. Chinh T. Hoang who teaches the course, CP469
