Dr. Shane Dixon is a Research Facilitator in the Office of Research Services at Wilfrid Laurier University. As a Research Facilitator he is responsible for working with Brantford faculty members to identify funding opportunities and to support the development of successful research grants. His work includes reviewing and providing feedback on grant applications, delivering workshops about grant opportunities and grant writing principles, and meeting with faculty to develop multi-year research funding plans.
Prior to joining the Office of Research Services, Shane was a postdoctoral fellow in the Human Factors Engineering Lab in the Department of Mechanical and Industrial Engineering at Ryerson University where he examined the integration of human factors engineering principles and practices into organizations.
Shane received his PhD in Sociology from University of Waterloo. His dissertation was based on a qualitative, longitudinal study of participatory workplace injury reduction programs in two workplaces.
