Eric Hall holds the principal bassoon position in three different organizations, the Canadian Opera Company, the Hamilton Philharmonic and the Grant Park Orchestra in Chicago. In addition, his musical activities have included performances with the National Ballet of Canada, the Toronto Symphony Orchestra, New Music Concerts and the Ravinia Festival Orchestra in Chicago. Eric can be heard on many recordings with the Canadian Opera Company and the Grammy nominated Grant Park Orchestra as well as on radio broadcasts for CBC radio and Classical WFMT in Chicago. His recording career has also taken him into the studio where he has been involved in numerous film scores and recordings for the CBC. He is a former member of the Manhattan Wind Quintet and as a performer and chamber musician Eric has performed around the world at festivals in Banff, Heidelberg, Spoletto, Edinburgh, Japan, Taiwan and Korea. He has appeared as soloist with the Niagara Symphony, the New World Symphony, the National Repertory Orchestra in Colorado and the Waterloo Symphony in Iowa.

Eric was awarded a fellowship with the New World Symophony under the direction of Michael Tilson Thomas. Preceding that, he received a MM from the Juilliard School and a BM and the Perfomer’s Certificate from the Eastman School. His principal teachers were K. David VanHoesen and Stephen Maxym for whom he held the position of Teaching Assistant at Yale University.
