Dr. Safi is an Iranian-American academic at UNC-Chapel Hill and a well-known commentator and blogger. He's written Memories of Muhammad (2009); The Politics of Knowledge in Premodern Islam (2006) and edited Progressive Muslims: On Justice, Gender and Pluralism.
