CMTS Research Groups

Call for Proposals

Deadline June 30, 2014

The Centre for Memory and Testimony Studies at WLU - in order to decentralize its activities and to further its mandate of facilitating work and exchange among scholars, students and artists - seeks proposals from autonomous research groups informally created. These groups will work independently and might hold workshops, events, organize performances, etc., that further the discourse of memory and testimony studies. In particular we are interested in projects that propose and envision an expanding dialogue between scholars or artists located in Canada and applying a multidisciplinary and contrastive approach.

We solicit proposals from scholars, artists, or students who designate themselves as responsible for a group and whose activities will be carried out between September 2014 and May 2015.

The Centre might award up to 3 projects according with the evaluation of the Board Committee after considering the quality, feasibility and close relation with the CMTS field of study.

Each project will be granted with $2000. In addition there may be opportunity to publish findings in the CMTS e-series in conjunction with WLU Press. In that eventuality, the CMTS will provide an additional $500 for the full cost of the publication, to be curated by Colman Hogan and Marta Marín-Dňmine. For artistic projects, this amount can be used to contribute to the cost of the presentation/performance/exhibit.

Please submit a proposal of 2 pages, maximum, along with the name of the participants of the project, affiliation, a budget and the expected scheduled, to Professor Marta Marín-Dňmine, Director of the CMTS:
