The Athletic Complex houses a triple gymnasium with seating for over 2,200, two squash courts, a dance and aerobics studio, a multi-purpose room, rock climbing wall, an athletic therapy clinic, a student lounge and a 50-metre swimming pool. The Athletic Complex pool had a $4 million renewal in the summer of 2009 which included new tiling, new airhandling and filtration systems and re-painting. The popular fitness centre is undergoing a $5 million renovation that will see a second floor added to the facility, doubling it's capacity to over 22,000 square feet. In addition to the 23 team varsity sport program, there is a complete intramural sports program for men, women and co-ed. Recreation programs include dance, martial arts, aquatics, mind-body fitness and group fitness. Daily news, results of Golden Hawk varsity teams, intramural programs and season ticket information is available on the website listed above.
University Stadium had a $5 million revitalization in 2007 which included a new turf field surface, all-weather running track, recreational gym and increased dressing room and multi-purpose space. The new artificial turf field is home to Golden Hawk football, rugby, lacrosse as well as many intramural programs and kinesiology classes and has seating for 6,500. The large indoor gym boasts a multi-purpose rubberized floor which allows for multiple uses and the layout has been revised to become a friendlier and safer environment.
Alumni field is home to varsity soccer and many intramural programs. The artificial turf field is used year round and is available exclusively for students from September to April for recreational and casual use.
The Athletic Complex, University Stadium and Alumni field are available for bookings/rentals by students, staff and faculty as well as the local community. Alumni field is only available for rentals from May through August. Further information on rentals and season ticket information is available on the website.
