Course Selection and Counselling

Associate Dean; Student Services, Faculty of Science: Dr. Richard Elliott, ext. 2426, relliott@wlu.ca

In Year 1, the student is expected to select introductory courses in a wide variety of subjects so as to have completed the required introductory courses for several possible honours programs prior to Year 2, as well as, to fulfill the course distribution requirements. The student is advised to seek academic counselling from the Office of the Dean, the chairs of departments, undergraduate advisors or from members of the faculty.

Although academic advising is available within each department or faculty dean's office, in all cases, it is solely the responsibility of students to ensure that they are properly registered and meet course requirements and the requirements of the program for which they are registered. All students should review the University Undergraduate Regulations chapter and the relevant program requirements and course information carefully.
