Gender Theories and Cultures

This course examines gender as a process of representation. The impact of factors such as race, class and sexual orientation on notions of gender will be considered. Specific themes that will be explored may include: ideals of femininity and masculinity, resistance through tomboy and sissy narratives, queer gender theories, performativity and transgender subjects. {CU}
