Biochemistry and Molecular Biology of Plants
0.5 Credit - Fall

A lecture and laboratory course examining plant structure and function at the cellular level, with an emphasis on intracellular protein trafficking systems and plant-specific photosynthetic chloroplasts. Molecular techniques used to study plant function at the molecular level will be discussed, including cell fractionation, mutant isolation, gene silencing, and plant transformation. Recent primary literature will also be reviewed.
