What is the Employee and Family Assistance Program (EFAP)?
EFAP are confidential, professional counselling services for eligible WLU employees and their dependents. They are free, voluntary and high quality services provided by Homewood Health Inc. Homewood Health has extensive experience supporting employees in the post-secondary education sector and addressing the specific challenges they face while leading students to academic excellence.
NEW!! As of February 1, 2016, Laurier is pleased to extend the EFAP benefit to Part-Time Faculty and Post-Doctoral Fellows, as well as other part-time staff groups.
What kinds or types of problems or concerns can I bring to this service?
Many people may think their problem is not suitable for the EFAP, however no problem is too small or too large for our assistance. You are encouraged to use the service for whatever the problem, minor or major, in order to prevent these concerns from increasing or causing you even greater concern.
The following are some examples of types of problems or concerns employees may experience. It is important to note this list is not meant to be exhaustive, but rather to demonstrate a range of issues:

- Adolescent issues
- Aging and care giving
- Anger management
